The Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) is gearing up for the 2025 African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship, set to take place in Abuja from April 1st to 14th at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.
As part of preparations, CAVB Board Member and Zone 3 President, Ali Yaro, paid a courtesy visit to the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi MFR, in Abuja on Friday. During his visit, Yaro also conducted a facility tour to assess Nigeria’s readiness to host the prestigious tournament.
Accompanying Yaro were key volleyball officials, including:
Engr. Musa Nimrod – President, Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF)
Ebenezer Morakinyo – Vice President, NVBF
Wosilat Abass – Secretary General, NVBF
Samuel Onikeku – Sports Secretary, Nigeria Customs Service
With 24 teams already registered, the championship promises to be one of the biggest volleyball events in Africa. Some of the participating clubs include:

Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, is set to come alive for the 14-day tournament, as the continent’s best volleyball clubs battle for supremacy.
