
A ten-man Sunshine Stars have held Nasarawa United to a 1-1 draw at Lafia City Stadium with Sunshine Stars right back Yusuf Olowoshile getting sent off for a second bookable offence.

The resilient Sunshine Stars shrugged off the early goal turning over a new leaf with more purposeful display.
Liman Ahmadu thought he had leveled up for Sunshine Stars in the 18th minute following his long range strike but the Solid Miners’ goalkeeper, Detan Ogundare saved brilliantly.
Ahmadu who is the second player to score a hat trick in the ongoing 2024/25 NPFL however cancelled out Nasarawa United’s goal in the 32nd minute, from Waheed Adebayo’s pass.
Thereafter, the Owena Whales became more aggressive from defence to the final third in the second half.
Sunshine Stars goalkeeper, Ishola Abdulateef was in his best form to deny the host from further hitting on target with his good saves.
The duo of Adebayo and Seth Mayi were replaced by Uche Onwuasonaya and Matthew Samuel were in the 60th minute while Chinedu Nwosu and Adebayo Alimi came in for Elmer Arunta and Liman Ahmadu 23 minutes later.
Sunshine Stars head Coach Bobola Akinfolarin hailed his side spirited effort, coming from a goal down to grab an away point.
“We will continue to approach every game as they come; great game we had today”, he said.
Sunshine Stars will next play host to Plateau United at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne.
